While I do not have a subscription to the fabfitfun box, but I am seeing so much hype for the summer 2018 box that I cannot not ignore it. I know that the goodies inside are something special because I am seeing the box daily across a variety of platforms. I am finally caving and purchasing the box for myself as a one-time deal, but I am not actually subscribed. Considering that you may be curious about the box too, I figure doing a fabfitfun summer 2018 review and unboxing is in order. The biggest selling point of this box is the total box value of the products inside, and the awesome full-sizes included. I must also say that I like the bright and playful design of the box, and it definitely screams summer to me. I am hoping that I got the makeup train case and the tarte contour palette, which are the main reasons for my purchase. The only way to find out is to break into this bad boy.

Each box comes with an informational insert that is designed like a large magazine. It has articles to read and includes info on the enclosed products.

The makeup train case is so big I cannot not include everything in one flat lay picture!

Yumi Kim Makeup Train Case

The first item in my fabfitfun summer 2018 review is the main reason I am purchasing the box. While I have too many makeup bags in my collection and I am not a traveler to even use them, I do have an event coming up where I need to travel with makeup. This bag works great! It has two separate areas that have their own zipper, dividing the case into two halves. The top half has a large zippered pouch and an area to hold brushes along with a plastic cover and elastic band to keep brushes secure. The bottom section is a wide open area to hold makeup. I think this bag is excellent for travel. This bag is probably designed with travel items in mind, so it is more meant to fit small products rather than large palettes. The value of this bag is $58. I find it comical that it includes a save $50 coupon when you spend $250 on the website. I would hate to see the prices of the other bags after reading the coupon.

Foreo Luna Fofo

When I heard that there was going to be an $89 facial cleanser in the box, I was yet again intrigued. I like the idea of cleansing your face with silicone because it is much more anti-microbial than a brush, as well as gentler. The Luna Fofo claims to cleanse your face using vibrations and it’s silicone scrubbers. This product also says that it can collect data on the health of your skin and build a personalized profile for you. It can actually talk to an application for your smartphone via Bluetooth to report about your skin. While it sounds gimmicky to me, I am not against giving the app a go. I would definitely take it’s findings with a grain of salt.

Pier 1 Imports Marble Ring Dish

I enjoy how versatile this ring dish is. I will use it as a ring dish among my other dishes and jewelry organizers. You can use it as a catch-all for keys/coins, in the kitchen, as a candle holder, on your work desk, etc. The style and easy elegance make it perfect for any decor. Would I walk into the store and pay $14.99 for it? No, but I will use it because it came in the box.

Erth Tu Y Yo Ring

I must admit that I have never been a fan of wearing pearls. I do like the simplicity of the band and the tasteful way that the pearls are set in this ring. Why complain when I can rock a $55 14k gold-plated ring that I feel like I barely paid for? This ring definitely will require care to keep it looking sharp. It cannot be exposed to chemicals, perfumes, etc. Also, pearls should only be cleaned with water or jewelry cleaner designed specifically for pearls.

Minor History Post Script Wallet

This style of wallet from the fabfitfun summer 2018 box is definitely not a new invention, but it is one that I have yet to understand. I get that the idea is to throw in a credit card, your ID, and maybe a few other cards and run out the door. I am more of a wallet person, and I prefer them to be wristlet style so that it can hold my phone. Now that I have a “wallet” like this one I think it will come in handy for when I use purses that are too small to hold my everyday wallet with all of my other things. I would like this wallet more if it had a removable strap.

Wildlife Conservation Society Paper Straw

This straw is a freebie to remind you to stop harming wildlife with plastic straws. This paper straw is biodegradable and works just as well as a plastic straw, which is awesome!

Coola Face Sport SPF 50 White Tea Moisturizer

I do not spend much time out in the sun, but now I am stuck with a sunscreen and moisturizer combo. This particular sunscreen is formulated specifically for the face so that it does not get greasy and/or clog your pores. It also contains moisturizer so that you can apply it under your makeup and also save a step while getting ready. The sunscreen itself is a white cream with a hint of sunscreen scent. It has a $32 value.

Orlando Pita Play Atmos-Shield Hair Protectant Treatment Spray

This heat protectant spray looks too fancy for use on your hair. The spray itself is milky white and on the thicker side, with a perfumed haircare scent. I always use heat protectant with hot styling tools, which makes me excited to try this one. Atmos-Shield says that it will do much more than just protect hair from heated tools. It also claims to be a 10-in-1 spray, which includes:

  • Up to 450 degree protection
  • Repairs split ends
  • Enhances manageability
  • Adds shine
  • Smoothes
  • Softens
  • Replenishes
  • Protection from UV
  • Protection from free radicals and pollution

The product retails for $34.

Tarte Sex Kitten Liquid Liner

I am really impressed with this felt-tip liner! I think the length and diameter is perfect for controlling how thick you want your line to be. The pigment is solid black and matte. I love the packaging of this liner so much, especially because I have a black cat. This eyeliner costs $20 and appears to only come in black.

Tarte tarteist PRO To Go Palette

The last product in this fabfitfun summer 2018 review is an eyeshadow palette by Tarte. I do not yet have any Tarte eyeshadow in my collection, but I am blown away by the swatches. Each eyeshadow feels creamy and swatches with intense pigment. The foiled shades are beautiful. While this palette is small and features a limited shade range, I think it will force you to get creative and churn out a variety of looks. This palette sells for $23.

In summary of my fabfitfun summer 2018 review I am pleased with the items that. The total value of my box is $345.99, which is about mid-range according to the price range that your box can fall in. I must admit that I am blown away by my total and I only paid $39.99 for the box! This box truly qualifies as a steal! I am beyond pumped about getting the makeup train case. I am also excited to try the Foreo product, and I am not disappointed about the eyeliner and eyeshadow palette in place of the contour palette. Being as this is my first fabfitfun box, I do think the price you pay is worth the value, but I personally will not be paying $49.99 per season. Do you subscribe to this box? What do you think about the products that you received? Let me know in the comments section. Until next time, continue to let your true beauty shine.
