Summer 2018 Fashion – Memorial Day Haul

When I go out for a day of shopping there is no telling what I will return with. Usually it comes down to some makeup, fashion, accessories, and nail polish. Whatever I do end up with, I definitely need to get those Memorial Day deals! My Memorial Day shopping haul for summer 2018 fashion is revitalizing my summer wardrobe. This year’s trends have me really excited because they mirror a lot of my tastes already. I am making sure to grab some staple or core pieces in this haul while also having fun with ‘creating that look for less.’ If you want to see more about my refreshing haul, please continue reading.

H&M

Studded t-shirt

The first item in this Memorial Day shopping haul for summer 2018 fashion is a top from the H&M Divided collection. I am hopelessly attracted to that collection because I like pieces with attitude. This long shirt can be worn alone as a t-shirt dress if you are more daring, or can easily be tied into a knot and worn as a standard t-shirt. I dig the mineral washed feel and the studs take the shirt from ordinary to extraordinary.

Palm print romper

Talk about a fun romper! It looks more like a cross between overalls and a standard romper. The colors used in the playful palm print design are gorgeous on the black backdrop. I think it would be fun to wear a black t-shirt or black short sleeved bodysuit under it, mirroring the t-shirt under overalls look.

Rose gold jewel necklace

As big of a fan as I am about statement jewelry, I also like dainty, delicate pieces. What really attracts me to this necklace is the single jewel or faux diamond, if you will, because it is rose gold in color. Perhaps it will pair well with the romper pictured above.

Forever 21

Strapless lemon bodysuit

I am always living a life obsessed with all things lemon, and fruit is finally in style for summer 2018! You will definitely see a trend with me buying lemon items in this haul. This bodysuit is an easy pick because it allows for effortless style. It can be worn with jeans or shorts, or as a piece to layer with in a more complex outfit.

Lemon wrap dress

This “dress” is completely different for my collection, and style in general. Considering that it ties and that you can control how tightly it wraps, it can be worn by itself as a dress or as a layering piece. With this being said, you can still put it over a dress or even over a shirt. I am thinking a white dress or shirt will suffice with the white polka dots.

Gold coin choker with crystal y-necklace

I totally want more gold coin pieces in my collection, both from the costume jewelry realm and the more fine jewelry realm. The next two pieces feature a gold coin necklace layered with other necklaces, and they can be paired with so many looks.

This particular necklace has a coin necklace, chain, and a third necklace with dangling gold bars that vary in length.

Lemon romper

Here we go again with more lemons! This romper blurs the lines between dressy and casual by not being too far into one category or the other. I am thinking about pairing it with one of the gold coin necklaces from above, and a white handbag that is coming up at the end of the post.

Striped off-the-shoulder dress

When I saw this dress on a mannequin it really called out to me. rue21 pairs this dress with a light wash, slightly distressed denim jacket. I truly love that idea, but I am not going to drop $30 or more on a denim jacket. I have found a denim shirt that serves the same purpose, but for less cash. But, more about that later. Sticking with the dress for now, it is even beautiful worn without a shirt or jacket because of the off-the-shoulder design with the tied sleeve detail. This dress is super lightweight and easy breezy for summer. There is something so timeless and always fashionable and chic with black and white stripes.

A New Day

Palm print tank top

I think the color combination, paired with my love of palm leaves, attracts me to this tank top. I can see myself tucking it into light wash denim shorts with some distressing, and layering it up with the denim shirt coming up soon. This tank top easily pairs up with the rose gold necklace coming later in this Target section.

Black circle handbag

When I was in Macy’s I fell in love with a circle bag by Nine West. It comes in both black and white, and I want both colors. Macy’s is running a good sale on the handbags, but purchasing both will still put me out over $80. I am compromising with myself by only purchasing the white Nine West bag, and seeking out a comparable black bag elsewhere. In addition, I am hunting for a smaller black back with gold accents to wear to a wedding. With finding this bag in Target, I know I am getting the look for less for $20. While the handles do not compare to the Nine West bag, it is still a black circle bag with gold accents. I am over the moon excited and I feel accomplished with my purchase. The white Nine West bag will be at the end of the post if you are curious to compare.

Layered rose gold coin necklace

Keeping up with the coin theme I have a wonderful layered necklace in rose gold. It will breathe a breath of fresh air into my collection, which is a sea of gold and silver.

Universal Thread light wash denim shirt

Coming your way is more look for less! I am scoring this soft and comfy light wash denim shirt at Target for $19.99 instead of splurging on a denim jacket! It is perfect to pair with the rue21 dress and to rip off their mannequin look. I like that the sleeves come rolled up, because that is exactly what I will do. Let’s appreciate for a moment how much of a staple piece this shirt is. There are so many ways to wear it, from buttoned up to open, from layered with other pieces to wearing it alone. I 100% recommend that you get a shirt like this for your collection.

No Boundaries

Red wrap dress

This red wrap dress screams quick and easy elegance for me. The wrap and layering is flattering for the figure. You can just slip on a pair of heels and a necklace and be out the door. It is perfect for date night or any other dressy event this summer.

Palm leaf earrings

I think these palm earrings will be a great match for one of my palm print rompers, finally completing the look! The entire summer No Boundaries jewelry collection is super fun, and the styles remind me of jewelry that was hot when I was a kid, yet appropriate for juniors. Do check the collection out if you are a 90s kid such as myself.

Braided leather coin choker

Coins that look like ancient currency always sucker me in. Also, the braided choker has just the right amount of attitude paired with the coins, perfect for my style.

Time and Tru long necklace

I really do not know how to describe this necklace other than it is part of a collection of longer necklaces. I admire the intricate layering and the gems that almost have an opal look to them.

Madison and Mallory stellar booties

I am doing some online shopping as well, but these pieces did not make it into the haul photo. I know what you are thinking- booties are not the best choice for summer. With that I agree, but these booties are so unique they scream out to be in my collection. How often is it that you find white boots that are not costume oriented?! The bold black straps, silver studs, and other silver accents take these booties over the top. I love them so much!

Nine West Orianna top handle circle crossbody

The final piece in my Memorial Day shopping haul for summer 2018 fashion is the circle bag I referenced earlier. Circles come off as highly fashionable to me, and Nine West bags are quality. How about those gold hardware handles- so stunning. I bet this bag will pair well with the rue21 lemon romper.
