We are quickly spiraling into fall, even if the weather is not cooperating with us. This means that it is time for my Play! by Sephora September 2018 review. Will the products be related to the season? I am not sure, but I do know that the theme is Next-gen Beauty. The products are supposed to contain innovative ingredients that deliver buzz-worthy results. Next-gen also means that one product may do the job of three or four products combined to help you save time in your routine. I must admit I do not know what to expect with the lineup, but I hope it will include fresh finds to try. Shall we cut open the seal on the box?

Right off the bat I want to say that I appreciate having a disposable, and recyclable bag. Sure it is nice to get a reusable, fabric bag considering the box is $10 per month, but they add up quickly if you have been a long time subscriber. I try to find purposes for them, but I have too many!

Belif The True Cream Moisturizing Bomb

The first product in my Play! by Sephora September 2018 review is Belif’s Moisturizing Bomb. In past boxes I have had the opportunity to try the aqua bomb, eye cream, and Hungarian water essence. So far I truly enjoy Belif’s moisturizing products and I find that they work better than all of the rest. Needless to say, I carry high expectations for this sample. The Moisturizing Bomb can be applied to the face and neck. It claims to provide 26 hours of hydration, supple skin, and to be soothing.

Olehenriksen Truth Serum

Truth Serum is intended to be applied to the face and neck before applying moisturizer. It claims to brighten, hydrate, firm, revive, and smooth your skin. It should also infuse your skin with potent antioxidants. The product itself is a transparent orange-colored liquid that pumps out of the bottle. It contains vitamin C and does smell like oranges. You should apply a dime-sized amount to clean, dry skin.

Marc Jacobs Beauty Highliner Matte Gel Eye Crayon Eyeliner in Earthquake

While I am a black eyeliner girl, dark brown is the next best thing. Continuing with the Play! by Sephora September 2018 review is a retractible eyeliner that claims to have rich pigment with a matte, not flat finish. The swatch glides on smoothly with extreme pigment in one swipe. It does tout an interesting claim that you have 15 seconds to work with the formula before it sets for 12 hour wear. A few minutes after swatching I vigorously rubbed the swatch and I could not get it to budge for anything. I actually had to scrub the area with micellar water to remove it. I would not expect the liner to move around on the eye.

Clinique Dramatically Different Hydrating Jelly

Hydrating Jelly is developed with people such as myself in mind. The formula is good for people with oily skin who still need and want to moisturize. The directions state to apply a dime-size amount to your face. It also claims to form a barrier to protect your skin from pollutants while locking in moisture. The gel is clear with no scent.

Too Faced Hangover Replenishing Face Primer

I have always wanted to try the Hangover primer, and now I can! What supposedly makes this primer stand out from the pack is that it contains ingredients to energize, refresh, and moisturize. No surprise here, but you should apply it all over the face before foundation application. The primer is white and has a scent that is hard to put a finger on.

Sephora Collection LashCraft Big Volume Mascara in Black

The last sample in my Play! by Sephora September 2018 review is a mascara from Sephora’s in-house collection. The mascara features an hourglass-shaped wand and claims to have saturated black pigments that create thicker and bolder lashes without clumps and flakes.

Now that we are at the end of this Play! by Sephora September 2018 review I can definitely give this box a thumbs up. I like that each product is new to me and not a repeat from a past box. You can even do a basic and natural full face using only items from this box. You can use the face products to make your skin look healthy, and the eye products to open your eyes and make you look awake. I already use a serum, moisturizer, and primer each morning, so I get to replace my core with samples to play with. The only downside is getting two moisturizers. What do you think about this box? Have you tried any of these products before? Let me know in the comments and until next time, continue to let your true beauty shine.
