It is my pleasure to bring to you the highly anticipated wet n wild Fire and Ice limited edition collection. There is no surprise that this collection is here, as some Bed, Bath, and Beyond’s put the displays out for sale much sooner than they were supposed to, and photos made their way to the internet. This collection features lip toppers, which are innovative for wet n wild, fresh bronzer shades, and additions to the Pro Brush line, to name a few items. I am not sure what wet n wild is playing off of with the Fire Dragon vs. Ice Dragon theme because I do not follow entertainment of that genre, but the theme makes for an awesome mix of colors. This collection is rather large. Similarly to the Flights of Fancy collection, not every item is included in the box set and has to be purchased separately. The products not included are supposed to be Walgreens exclusives that are also available on wet n wild’s website. I have the full collection and I am reviewing, swatching, and providing my first impressions on everything.
I had no idea that the wet n wild Fire and Ice collection box comes with a collectible pin, just like the Flights of Fancy collection! Being the dork that I am, I am pleasantly overjoyed and will proudly sport my pin.
wet n wild Pro Brush Line Brushes
The first group of items in the wet n wild Fire and Ice collection are two Pro Brush Line brushes. As someone who owns the entire Pro Brush Line and the limited edition blush brush from the Flights of Fancy collection, I can attest to the quality of these brushes. You know that you have a good brush when the handle has weight and feels sturdy, while the bristles are beyond soft. I am attracted to the lovely handle designs that we get with the Fire and Ice collection. I feel as though I have yet to find the perfect bronzer brush, but I hold much faith in this one. While I have many highlighter brushes in my collection, this one is somehow shaped different. Needless to say, I am excited to work with these brushes and I think that they are worth the money.

wet n wild color icon Loose Pigments
I own all of the limited edition loose pigments, and I am embarrassed to admit that I have never used them. While I imagine that they are to be used as eyeshadows, loose pigments, or even single shadows, they do not fit into my routine or needs. I tend to reach for palettes that offer plenty of choices to get the job done quick. I do admire the shimmery hues included in this lineup. The dispenser has a snap-down lid to prevent the pigments from becoming a messy situation. Swatching the pigments is a struggle, which I do not remember being an issue in the past. It seems like my pigments need broken up more because I am getting chunks of pigment coming out instead of fine powder. I think they would come off more pigmented if they dispensed better.

wet n wild color icon Bronzers
Wet n wild definitely needed to bring some new bronzers to the table. I am pumped to see three bronzers released into the wet n wild Fire and Ice collection, but we need some that are not limited edition! I like that wet n wild is going for a uniform look with the packaging for highlighters, blush, and bronzers. While swatching the bronzers I find them to provide a buildable pigment. I was afraid that they would actually provide a strong punch of pigment by how they look in the pan. The bronzers themselves feel super smooth. You’re Dragon Me Down is a warm bronzer, Queen’s Land is the darkest, and Bronze Dynasty is the cool shade. The bronzers have a mild amount of shimmer, with Bronze Dynasty having the most. That does not bother me, but I know that it is a no-go for some makeup lovers.

wet n wild color icon Eyeshadow Quads
These four new and limited edition eyeshadow quads are yet again the quality that you would expect from wet n wild. I still have the complaint that the 2018 formula is much more powdery than the original. The more that I think about it, the transition shades are the worst, whether you look at the wet n wild Fire and Ice collection or any other shadow released in 2018. They produce so much kick-up that it is almost a Subculture-like issue. My favorite palette out of the bunch is Fit For a Queen because I love warm shades and can always go for a good burgundy eyeshadow. I feel like this palette would pair up nicely with wet n wild’s Nude Awakening palette. Dragon Scales can definitely be an extension of the Comfort Zone palette. I am blown away by the silver swatch from The Night’s Quad. Look how foiled it is after one swipe! The most disappointing palette out of the bunch was Mythicool Creatures. I cannot get the purple to swatch for anything. The blue is not true to color.

wet n wild megaglo Highlighting Powders
I will take new megaglo Highlighting Powders any day of the week. This lineup leans more toward a range of unnatural colors not suitable for daily wear. Every time I look at Halo Walkers it makes me think of the movie Frozen, between the blue and snowflake pattern. Winter Falls in LA and Glow Watcher are very similar. While they are both white highlighters, Glow Watcher has a silver sheen to it which reminds me all too much of the Diamond Lily highlighter. I do not think that there is a reason to purchase Glow Watcher if you already have Diamond Lily. Winter Falls in LA is more of a pure white highlighter with a mild blue-pink sheen. The formula is the same as any other megaglow Highlighting Powder.

wet n wild megalast Liquid Catsuit Metallic Lipsticks
With the wet n wild Fire and Ice collection we welcome four new shades of Liquid Catsuit Metallic Liquid Lipsticks. Queen’s Blood and Redlings are beautiful shades for daily use. Queen’s Blood is a rusty red while Redlings is in the red family. Shall We Slay is some sort of cross between a gunmetal and a taupe, but it can be worked into a daily routine. Icing On the Wall is a gorgeous blue, but not really a color that I could pull off. These, of course, have the typical doe-foot applicator with a curve that holds product. I tend to find that the Metallic Lipsticks need to be built-up for optimal pigmentation and to avoid a streaky look. They are not full coverage in one swipe. The formula itself does dry down in a few minutes to be perfectly matte yet metallic.

wet n wild megalast Liquid Catsuit Lip Toppers
The last duo in the wet n wild Fire and Ice collection are a new concept for wet n wild, but not for the makeup world- lip toppers. Lip toppers are typically a product designed to be applied over lip color to add a particular sheen or change the look of your lip color. Both of these lip toppers fit the bill by being sheer but adding a colored sheen. Wild Bling‘s has a blue sheen, while Flames of Glory is a pink-blue. These lip toppers 100% feel and apply like lipgloss. They go on and stay sticky and do not dry down. I am disappointed to discover this, as I hate lip gloss. As I have not yet tried any other lip toppers, perhaps that is how they usually tend to be? Let me know in the comments. As an experiment I am swatching Flames of Glory over Redlings to see what happens. Redlings does get a transformation. These lip toppers will break down your lipcolor. I find it easy to wash off the layered swatch, but not easy to wash off Redlings on it’s own. I am comfortable with passing on the toppers.

Now at the end of the wet n wild Fire and Ice collection I can say that the collection is solid, with an array of products worth purchasing. While I can do without the lip toppers and loose pigments, I believe that everyone can find something that they will enjoy from this collection, and your money will be wisely spent. I am most excited for the brushes and bronzers. Will you buy anything from this collection? What did you get or pass up, and why? Please feel free to share with me in the comments area below. Until next time, continue to let your true beauty shine.
