Play! by Sephora June 2018 Review – Summer Nights

It is June, we have come right up on the start of summer, and it is time for the Play! by Sephora June 2018 review. The past few boxes felt more selfie/social media themed, but this box promises a seasonal edge with the theme Summer Nights. I am not really sure what to expect with this theme. Perhaps long-lasting makeup, statement hues, and products that beat the heat. The only way to find out for sure is to cut the adhesive seal and dig into the box. How about you join me for this unboxing and review. Let's get started!

Marajo Deep Treatment Butter and Nourishing Cleansing Creme

Starting off this Play! by Sephora June 2018 review is a foil packet pair of shampoo and conditioner. Despite their extravagant names, this stuff is really just high-end shampoo and conditioner. The duo claims to hydrate the hair and nurture it with botanical oils and butters. It is also supposed to strengthen the hair while making it look smoother and shinier. Use the cleansing cream like you would any shampoo, then follow-up with the treatment butter or conditioner. Allow the butter to sit for about two to three minutes, then rinse. I found the directions for the butter interesting because it says to apply a quarter-sized amount, yet this is a foil packet that is intended for a one-time use.

Cover FX Perfect Setting Powder in Translucent Light

Perfect Setting Powder is a loose powder that can be used to set your entire face, and also works for baking. I appreciate that I got the translucent shade, as that is what I go for in other loose powders. It is supposed to be ultra lightweight and enable makeup to have all-day wear. It also claims to have light diffusing particles that blur and smooth the skin for an airbrushed effect. This sample is incredibly small, even smaller than the Laura Mercier powder sample that I got. I find the small loose powders do not dispense easily.

Living Proof No Frizz Nourishing Styling Cream

I use products like this every time that I wash my hair, but I have never tried a high-end version. This No Frizz cream is a styling cream that claims to block moisture in the air without weighing your hair down. You are to generously apply it from roots to ends on clean, damp hair, then comb through. The product is a white cream with a hard scent to describe, but it does smell like other Living Proof products.

Sol De Janeiro Brazilian Bum Bum Cream

Bum Bum cream is highly popular and loved by many. I have been wondering when I would finally receive a sample for myself. Bum Bum cream says that you can apply it anywhere to the body where you want to tighten, smooth, and add radiance. I have never used a cream that has claimed to tighten before! You are to apply it in circular motions to build up heat or friction that will aid in quick absorption. The cream is yellow and has a beachy or tropical scent, almost like a cocoa butter or the Physicians Formula butter line.

Clinique Take The Day Off Makeup Remover

I definitely need further assistance in getting all of my eye makeup off daily. I tend to follow-up with micellar water or an eye makeup remover. I will definitely give Take The Day Off a try. The formula claims to be gentle and will not sting or irritate. Most makeup removers irritate my eyes horribly, so let's hope the claims hold true. This product is supposed to remove waterproof eye makeup with an oil-free formula. I love when my makeup removers are oil-free because I hate that oily feeling. You are to shake the product well and apply it to a cotton round. It has no distinguishable scent.

Too Faced Melted Matte Lipstick in Queen B

The final item in my Play! by Sephora June 2018 review is a matte liquid lipstick. I have so many matte lip colors that are pretty much this shade, but I cannot get enough of them! I have always been intrigued to try the Melted Matte line. So far I am impressed. I liked the rich pigmentation that I got in one swipe, and it dried down fully matte in a few minutes. The color is gorgeous. The applicator is a small doe-foot with a flat edge to make application easy. It says that it is long-lasting, lightweight, and matte yet nourishing.

Now at the end of this Play! by Sephora June 2018 review I can better see that the products, for the most part, align with the Summer Nights theme. The hair products are intended to keep your style in check, the makeup remover helps remove your craziest looks, and Bum Bum cream just feels like it is intended for summer. I liked the mix of products, and I appreciate there was no primer or fragrance in this box. Have you tried any of these items? There are some definite cult-favorites in the mix. Let me know about your favorites in the comments below. Until next time, continue to let your true beauty shine.
