Spring 2018 Shopping Mini Haul – Ross

I am finally going out and doing some good shopping, enough for a spring 2018 shopping mini haul. Unfortunately it is still unseasonably cold here and not at all what spring should be. In anticipation of some warmer temperatures (hopefully in the 60s and 70s), I am purchasing a variety of items to freshen up my wardrobe and makeup stash. My hope is that by the end of this post you will feel more confident about shopping at discount stores while still looking sharp.

Fashion

Bozzolo burgundy lace bralette

I’m starting off my spring 2018 shopping mini haul with a definite wardrobe staple- a bralette. I like to collect them in a variety of colors. They are awesome because they are beyond comfortable. Additionally, they are ideal for those style situations where your bra is going to show no matter what by keeping your look tasteful.

American Rebel tie front anchor tee

If you find this shirt to be familiar from another Ross trip, you are correct. I already have this shirt in navy blue, but that one is longer and without the tie. The back of this shirt also says “hope is the anchor of my soul.” The main difference is that the navy blue shirt is made by French Pastry, but this one is American Rebel. Either way, I really love all things nautical, and this comfy shirt is an easy choice.

Hint of Blush floral cold shoulder blouse

I am selecting this shirt in my spring 2018 shopping mini haul because it is something different all the way around. It has the feel of a casual blouse, and I appreciate that it is a button-down. Besides the beautiful red roses overlapping the black and white stripes, this shirt is could-shouldered and features an added ruffle flair. I can easily pair this with jeans, denim shorts, or denim capris, as well as the black and white bag coming up soon.

Splash mesh panel t-shirt

I am a little bit surprised that I am drawn to this shirt. The color is probably the most appealing to me, but I do like the deep v mesh panel. I think it really gives it that pop of attitude and may pair well with a black denim distressed skirt that I bought recently.

First Love floral tank

This dressy tank screams is gorgeous in this spring 2018 shopping mini haul! I think it is so pretty, but showing it on a hanger does not do it justice! The sides come in at an angle on the bottom so that the middle is longer. I plan on pairing it with khaki capris and white sandals.

Clear iridescent handbag

This bag is so different and weird that I just cannot pass it up. It totally reminds me of the clear designer handbag trend that happened back when I was in high school. The straps and sides are made of a silver material, as well as the included crossbody strap inside. The clear part has a purple/pink iridescent shift. I like that there is a silver pouch inside of the bag so that the world does not have to see everything you are carrying.

Rubber handbag

Besides the fact that this bag is so cute and small, it is made of a different material. The material may be silicone or rubber, but I have not seen anything like it. It has a super long gold crossbody chain strap. It will look great with that floral cold shoulder top from this spring 2018 shopping mini haul.

Katy Perry lemon jelly sandals

I am dying over finding these sandals at Ross because I know that they are brand new items for spring/summer that are being advertised by stores like Forever 21. I cannot not believe that Ross has something brand new and perfectly in season so fast! They normally retail for $50, but Ross’s price is $18. If you have not yet heard about these sandals, they come in a variety of fruits/colors and are all scented. Jelly shoes were highly popular when I was a kid, and I had a bunch of pairs. These shoes take me way back, but are totally appropriate for my age. Also, fruit is in this season.

Makeup

Gotta B’ Urban Magical Mermaid brushes

While I do not think that these mermaid brushes are practical, they do look nice on your vanity. The wide brush is for blush, and the smaller one is for concealer. The large, angled brush is for contour/blush/highlight, which is best paired with a palette without divided sections. I know that It Cosmetics makes a face palette that would work decently with the brush. Overall, the quality is perfectly fine.

Real Techniques Miracle Finish Sponge

Next in my spring 2018 shopping mini shopping haul is a fun sponge. My go-to makeup sponge is the Miracle Complexion Sponge, so I need to try this one! Real Techniques says that you can use the Miracle Finish Sponge damp or dry for applying your blush. I bet it will work well for cream and liquid blushes. I am curious about wetting it and using it for foundation application. Miracle Finish is smaller than Miracle Complexion, and just by taking a look at the picture you can see that it is more porous. Even if it fails, there has to be more uses than just blush. If you have any ideas or recommendations, let me know in the comments.

Nyx Best Face Forward Brush Kit

I am buying this brush set not necessarily because I am in need of brushes, but because I really like the collectible handles. I must say that the bristles are super soft and luxurious, and the handles feel sturdy. The powder brush should be good for setting my foundation. While I have plenty of fan brushes, I do not have any in this thick and full style. This particular fan brush will work very well for bronzing the face. The only brush that disappoints me is the foundation brush. I have a bunch of them in my collection, but I do not use them to apply my foundation. If you can think of any alternative uses for foundation brushes, please let me know in the comments.

This set comes with a clutch-style pouch to hold the brushes. It almost looks like an envelope to me. I like it and think it will hold the brushes, but it really cannot hold much more or it will bulge out and not shut.

Profusion

I am ending this spring 2018 shopping mini haul with some eyeshadow. I am stoked to find the following two palettes. These palettes were released into Target at Christmas time and I have heard so many good things about them. Profusion has really stepped up their game since entering Target. These are palettes that I totally should have asked Santa for, because the colors are gorgeous and right up my alley. I am pleased with all of the swatches. I am noticing that the formula is not powdery, which is a big plus in my book. These palettes are definitely winners for your collection.

Sultry eyeshadow palette

I know that my Sultry palette looks a little rough. It was either go for this palette or buy the one with a broken eyeshadow. The broken chunks of black are getting into the surrounding shades, so I am trying my best to clean this palette up. I can assure you that the shades are in good shape and my palette looks better.

We have reached the end of my spring 2018 shopping mini haul. I know that it is not ridiculous in size, but I am always blown away by the inexpensive finds at Ross. I am forever pumped about the quality of the clothing, how stylish everything is, and the deep discounts to be found. Surely my posts are solid evidence that you can shop at discounted stores and find some amazing items that make you look expensive for a lot less.
