Walmart Beauty Box Review Winter 2018 – The Trendsetter Box

Once Spring 2018 rolled around, Brandshare finally charged me for and shipped my Winter 2018 box. This is almost the same story as the Fall 2017 box. Brandshare has the boxes an entire season behind at this point. I am honestly not sure if this is happening to everyone, or it is just me. I almost feel like unsubscribing and resubscribing fresh to see if that corrects the problem. Forget reaching out to customer service, you only get the runaround. Anyway, I am excited that my box has arrived so that I can finally unbox it with all of you. It has some weight and I can hear products rattling around inside. Time to begin yet another bleated Walmart Beauty Box review for Winter 2018.

Soo AE Purifying Brightening Peeling Gel

The first product in this Walmart Beauty Box review for Winter 2018 is what appears to be a mask, but is not. You actually massage it into your moist skin using circular motions after cleansing. Then, rinse with warm water. I would imagine this product causes your skin to peel, but it does not actually state on the package. Peel products make me sort of nervous, but it does say this product is safe for sensitive skin. I am not sure if you are to use the entire package in one application. This product makes a ridiculous number of claims, so you better take a seat for this one.
  • Clarifies
  • Refines
  • Exfoliates
  • Brightens
  • Unclogs pores
  • Allows for skin to quickly absorb other products after use

Ecotools Color Perfecting Minis

I was highly excited when I saw this product in the box because this is a full-sized pack of sponges! I use a mini sponge in my daily routine, so now I will not have to buy any for a while. These appear to be minis of Ecotools' full-sized sponge, which I have heard only good things about. The concept behind color correcting sponges is that they are color-coded to be used with a matching color correcting concealer. This is to help you keep from mixing colors as you work with different concealers. While I have a rainbow assortment of color correctors in my collection, I tend to use the same sponge without issue. I will probably use these individually, but I appreciate the idea.

Dove Refresh + Care Volume & Fullness Dry Shampoo

I have always been curious about Dove dry shampoo, and other Dove products in general. They tend to not be the cheapest products at the drugstore, so I usually pass them over. This is a pretty typical dry shampoo that claims to instantly absorb oils to refresh hair. The directions state to shake the can well, then spray onto lifted sections about eight to 12 inches away from the roots. I have never heard of massaging the product into your roots, but it says to do that next. I think every woman should have dry shampoo in their arsenal. I am not one of the dry shampoo obsessed women. I tend to use it on rare occasions when it is absolutely necessary.

Aquaphor Ointment Body Spray

I do not think I have tried a spray-on lotion before, but the idea intrigues me. This lotion claims to relieve dry, rough skin while soothing and providing a healthy glow. The directions state to shake the can well and spray the product evenly over the skin while holding the can three to five inches away from the body. It is slightly concerning that the can warns against breathing any of it in. Spray-on lotions are always marketed as being time savers, and I could definitely handle knocking some time off of my routine.

Biore Baking Soda Acne Scrub

The Biore Baking Soda scrub is a repeat product for me. But, being completely honest my acne has been acting up recently so I think this product arrived just in time. It is a face wash that contains salicylic acid as an acne treatment. It claims to clear, control, and prevent acne, which I agree with for the most part. You are to apply it to a wet face, massage, and rinse. I would say that it gently exfoliates. I like that it gives a mild cooling sensation as you wash with it, which helps me feel fresh and clean. It is light orange in color and smells like baking soda. I think it also has a hint of orange but that may be my mind playing tricks on me.

Aveeno Daily Moisturizing Lotion

I find the various Aveeno lotions that I get in Walmart boxes to be pretty basic. I tend to use them as hand cream. This one claims to absorb fast and leave a powder like feel for 24 hours. It is a white lotion with no distinguishable scent.

RoC Multi Correxion 5 in 1 Chest, Neck, & Face Cream

The name of this product only lets me know that I should put it on my face, neck, and chest, but I have no idea for what purpose. The back of the bottle only mentions that it contains sunscreen and how often it should be applied during sun exposure. I had to go on RoC's website to find out what this product is supposed to accomplish. The website talks more about the chest and neck than the face, so I will probably skip face application. This product claims to visibly smooth fine lines in four weeks, while boosting radiance, hydrating, and restoring elasticity and firmness. It has a nice perfumed scent that is not overbearing.

Aveeno Daily Moisturizing Yogurt Body Wash

The final product in this Walmart Beauty Box review for Winter 2018 is a body wash. It contains vanilla and oatmeal, and has a delicious vanilla scent. It claims to cleanse, nourish, and moisturize. It is for daily use and can even be used for shaving. The color of the body wash matches the color of the bottle.

My closing thoughts on this Walmart Beauty Box review for Winter 2018 are that I am pleased and I think the box is a good value. I got eight products total and they were all full-sized or deluxe/travel sized samples. No foil packets in sight (do note the peeling gel is full-sized). I definitely think the value of the box trumped the $5 spent on shipping. I can see, for the most part, how these products would be helpful in the winter. My favorite product was the pack of Ecotools sponges. My only complaint, which is really an ongoing complaint is that Walmart should include a sheet that mentions the benefits of each product like other subscription boxes do. If I am trying a product out I need to know which benefits to keep an eye out for. Other than that, get your act together Brandshare. Did you get this box? What are your thoughts? Let me know in the comments. Until next time, continue to let your true beauty shine.
