The year is in full swing and I am coming back at you with my Play! by Sephora March 2018 review and unboxing. The theme of the March box is “Festival of Beauty,” as we are entering festival season. I think that the products will be dedicated to quick and easy beauty staples that also provide some sort of healthy benefits. Other than that, I am not entirely sure what to expect. We will not know until we open the box, so why not jump right in.
This month’s bag is by far one of my favorites. I really like the blue tie dye. The bag itself is much softer, unlike the stiffer, canvas-like bags we normally get.
VERB Ghost Oil
The first product in this Play! by Sephora March 2018 review is a hair oil. I am definitely into hair oil to help control frizz and hydrate my locks. This particular oil claims to reduce frizz, detangle, repair, and add shine. It is called “Ghost” because it is supposed to vanish without leaving residue or a heavy feeling. The oil is clear and has no distinguishable scent.
Lancome Miel-en-Mousse Foaming Cleansing Makeup Remover
While this product may sound like a conditioner, it is actually a foaming makeup remover that also cleanses the skin. The directions state to apply the product to a dry face and then add water to assist the product in lathering into a foam. This product is clear yellow and very thick. It honestly looks and acts like honey. As it turns out, this product contains acacia honey.
Sephora Matte Perfection Powder Foundation in 14 Neutral Linen
I am not much of a powder foundation gal because I like a more full coverage/glam look, but powder foundations can make good setting powders. This particular powder foundation claims to be buildable without looking cakey. The powder feels smooth and soft. I think the shade will be a decent match for my face. The package states you can apply it with a sponge to get more coverage, or with a brush for less.
Buxom Plumpline LipLiner in Hush Hush
Next up I have a traditional pencil lip liner from Buxom. They describe Hush Hush as a warm cinnamon shade. I think it is more in the mauve family. I picture warm cinnamon to be a darker red. I honestly live on mauve lip liner, so this shade is right up my alley. The formula is immediately matte and nicely pigmented. It does swatch smoothly and easily. The other end of the pencil has a handy blending brush. As far as the “pluming” claim, I am not sure how that is possible.
Murad Invisiblur Perfecting Shield Broad Spectrum SPF 30 PA+++
To sum this product up, it is a blurring face primer that contains SPF and anti-aging ingredients. It can be worn alone or under makeup. The directions state to apply a pea-sized amount onto moisturized skin.
Ouai Anti-Frizz Sheet
The final product in this Play! by Sephora March 2018 review is the bonus product- an Anti-Frizz Sheet. Instead of perfume we do get a foil packet sample, which is ok for a bonus. Your girl always is battling frizzy hair, so I might as well try this sheet out. The directions state to smooth the sheet over dry hair from roots to ends to tame static and frizz. It also claims to be scented as if it is an expensive perfume. Hopefully it smells good!
What do you think of the products in my Play! by Sephora March 2018 review? What counts to me is that I have products that I will be able to use up in my daily routine, for the most part. I hate when samples linger around for a while. Will you be trying any of these products? Let me know in the comments section. Until next time, continue to let your true beauty shine.
