Winter Shopping Haul 2018 – Variety

During the wintertime it can be tough to drag yourself out of the house when the weather is less than pleasant, even though you have cabin fever. Well, I am finally making it out and snagged up some awesome fashion, makeup, and accessories deals, enough for a winter shopping haul. I am sharing my finds with you so that you know what to look out for during your next shopping trip. I say it is time to jump right in.

Ross Dress for Less

J for Justify Young Contemporary floral cold-shoulder top

The first item in my winter shopping haul is a cold-shoulder top. I love everything about this top- from the super soft fabric, to the floral pattern, mauve pink hue, and rose gold necklace, this top can easily be dressed up or down.

Sweet Wanderer striped top

This shirt calls to me because it looks so business, or business casual. I think it will look superb paired with the booties coming up below, and slightly ripped medium wash jeans.

Lily White mauve lace bell sleeve top

As you may be wondering, I am digging mauve lately. I also have a thing for lace, but I know the top will not last forever. It has an inside lining in the front, but not in the back, and features mild bell sleeves and ruffle details. A lace bralette will combat the sheer back. This is yet another piece that can be dressed up or down from my winter shopping haul.

A. Byer polkadot lace bodysuit

I have always been a fan of bodysuits because they provide effortless style by giving you the tucked in shirt look. This one even has a built-in cami which means less layers I need to put on. I have not decided what to do with this piece. It will look really nice with a skirt or jeans. The material itself is not quite lace, but hard to describe. It is sheer and has velvet polka dots.

Ci Sono by Cavalini faux fur and leather vest

This vest is perhaps my favorite find of the winter shopping haul. I am not much of a vest person for outerwear, but this vest will make you look like a million bucks. The faux fur is beyond soft, and the faux leather has a nice weight and feel of quality. The gold accents pair nicely with the leopard. I know I will be wearing this again and again, and it is only $16.99!

Pine rose jegging tee

How gorgeous are the roses on this super soft jegging tee?! I need more red in my life, and this tee is a perfect way to do it.

Betsey Johnson rose gold quilted crossbody

This metallic rose gold crossbody is a missing piece in my collection. It will pair well with outfits that include rose gold jewelry. I like the creme colored sides and the quilted details. Typically I wear these bags on my arm and let the crossbody strap hang down for a little extra something. My only critique is that Betsey could have gotten away with rose gold hardware.

Madeline Stuart studded heel booties

These booties are so unique that I just had to grab them. They give off just the right amount of pizazz and glam with a smooth, matte material. I cannot wait to style with them. They were only $18.99.

Nyx Prep & Finish Set

I am purchasing this set primarily for the matte setting spray because it is an everyday-use product in my daily routine. Buying the whole set is a steal in my winter shopping haul because I get two other products to try.

Nyx Studio Perfect Photo-loving Primer

I am really hoping that this primer is a dupe for Smashbox’s Photo Finish Primer. Both of these primers are clear and thick, and claim to be photo-ready. I will not know until I feel the formula and see how it sets on my face.

Nyx Matte Finish Setting Spray

I use this setting spray daily as a priming spray after applying actual primer, but before foundation to help me stay matte.

Nyx HD Finishing Powder

I would imagine this powder is just like elf’s HD pressed powder. They are both white, HD, and transparent on the skin.

Real Techniques Bold Metals Collection Spotlight Essentials

I already have the blush brush, but I am buying this set to get the other two brushes that I do not have. The entire set is $6.99, but the bold metals brushes retail from between $15-25. The included brush pouch is pretty nice and can hold more than the three provided brushes.

Real Techniques Bold Metals 300 Tapered Blush

I use this brush as my daily blush brush. It works perfectly and I highly recommend it.

Real Techniques Bold Metals 102 Triangle Concealer

I cannot foresee using this brush for anything except concealer application, due to its unique tapered triangle shape.

Real Techniques Bold Metals 203 Tapered Shadow

I would say this brush would best be used for eyeshadow blending or for crease application.

Physicians Formula Happy Booster Powder, Blush, & Lipstick

This set looks so happy and fun with all of the hearts, I just need to try it as part of this winter shopping haul.

I really like how this blush looks in the pan. It swatches with a pink that is a cross between hot pink and rosy.

I am not sure what to think of this “powder.” It looks more like a light bronzer in the pan, but it swatches oddly light on my skin, just lighter than my skin tone. Is it called a powder because it is just a setting powder for the face? What is up with that pink heart? I do not want pink in my setting powder or bronzer. I have a fear about using this powder on my face and having it end up looking too dark.

Physicians Formula Happy Booster Lipstick in Rose and Nude

I think it is cute how they put a raised heart in the center of the lipsticks. The pigmentation is fine with the lipsticks, but boy do they really stay shiny. I do not think they will last long through eating and drinking.

Glass or crystal nail files are the only nail files that I use. These are going to be my backups.

Whenever I see Scunci at Dollar Tree I grab everything up because they are name brand, quality hair accessories. In this winter shopping haul I have some headbands, scrunchies, and a hair clip that really does stay in place all day.

I heard that Bonne Bell is coming to Dollar Tree, but this lip liner is the only product that I can find! I am really impressed by the pigmentation and smoothness of the liner.

Beauty Intuition Cosmetic Brush Cleaning Mat

When Real Techniques released their brush cleaning palette I bought it right away. Yes, I spent $15 on a piece of silicone that has three different sections- one for small, medium, and large brushes. However, this sink mat for $4.99 is the cheapest by far. It suctions to the bottom of the sink. I think the sections of the matte are unique because they give you a side for face brushes and a side for eye brushes. Each side has a cleansing section and a rinsing section. I never really used one of the three sections of the Real Techniques palette, so this one makes more sense. It also has a bonus deep cleansing scrub section in the middle.

Room 2 Room 3 Piece Wall Shelf Set

I found a set of three mini floating shelves for my room. They are just small enough to hold a few candles. White goes great with my decor, but they also come in black. What a great winter shopping haul find for just $5!

Beauty Treats 12 Color Matte Eyeshadow in 03 Brights

I heard some good things about the little Beauty Treats palettes, so I have to give this one a try. Buying brands like this is always hit and miss, sometimes the products blow me away, other times they do not work at all. This palette definitely meets my expectations. The eyeshadows have strong pigmentation without being too powdery. Of course, this palette is not for everyday use, nor does it contain proper shades for a base color, crease, or for blending. It is a fun palette to keep around.

Mermaid Shell Ring Holder

I have a hunch that these ring phone holders are going to be the next big thing since Popsockets. They function in a similar manner in that they adhere to the back of your phone and aid you in holding your phone steadily or propping your phone up for watching videos. You simply put your finger through the ring for a secure hold. The ring rotates 360 degrees.

wet n wild megalst The Saving Base

I am getting low in The Saving Base, so I am picking this up as a refill/repurchase. This is the only base coat I use in my weekly manicures, and I love it to bits.

City Color Contour Palette On-the-Go

This palette is yet another risky purchase in the winter shopping haul. Most City Color products impress me, but there are duds floating around. This contour palette has two contour shades, two bronzers, and two highlights, in that order. This palette is surprisingly pigmented, so much so that you need to use a light hand and should tap the excess off of your brush. Definitely a good find!

elf Liquid Matte Lipstick in Praline

I just about jumped for joy when finding this matte lipstick in Target because Praline is my absolute favorite shade from elf. No stores around me carry the matte lipsticks. This color is totally Praline, even when dried down. The formula dries down to be fully matte in minutes and features an easy application, flat triangle doe foot that holds onto product.

Nyx Duo Chromatic Illuminating Powder in Twilight Tint

I do not have any of the duo chromatic highlighters from Nyx, so why not add this one to my collection as part of the winter shopping haul. This one may appear white, but it has a purple shift. It is very pretty and perfect for communicating with your alien brethren.

Physicians Formula Butter Highlighter in Pearl

I am dying to try the Butter Highligthers, and I finally found them! Being a white highlighter lover, I am selecting Pearl. It is gorgeous! The formula feels more like a cream, but you can definitely apply it with your fingers or with a brush. It provides a white sparkle that lasts all day.

Color Club Serendipity 21 Day Wear-at-home Nail Color Dip Kit in Soft Serve

I am very surprised to see a dip nail kit in a drugstore, and I have to try it out! I am buying Soft Serve because the colors remind me of spring. This set has everything you need to do dip nails at home that supposedly will last for 21 days. Please let me know in the comments if you would like a tutorial on how to use this Serendipity dip nail kit. I would be more than happy to make a tutorial for you!

No Boundaries mauve mesh lace shirt

The final item in my winter shopping haul for 2018 is a beautifully detailed shirt. Besides the unique pink hue, this shirt features mesh details with an overlay that is hard to describe- part lace, part crochet. I really like that the design is continued along the bottom hem of the shirt.
