Walmart Beauty Box Review Fall 2017 – The Trendsetter Box

I know what you are thinking- it is almost Winter and I never even did an unboxing of the Fall 2017 Walmart Beauty Box. No worries, I am still a subscriber. I know that you all, my readers, really enjoy this type of post. I had an issue getting the Fall box, and it is a story I am going to share. Honestly, if you all did not love this material as much as you do, I would have cancelled my subscription. Let's just hope that there are no more kinks moving forward.

As you may know, the Walmart Beauty Box is a seasonal box that comes out only four times a year at the change of every season. Once the season changes I normally receive a box just a few weeks into the season. In the mean time, BrandShare (the company that manages many subscription boxes) sends out emails reminding you to update your information before you are charged and the box ships. However, this time around there were zero emails. When November rolled around I became concerned and started stalking my Beauty Box account, only to see that no orders had been placed. I ended up Googling what was going on and found out that there had been a lot more subscribers jumping on board this season, which caused a shipping delay. That is ok, but it bothers me that us loyal, paying customers were never informed via email. I should not have had to take to the internet and hear the issue from another blogger. My card was not even charged until November 16! Note that Fall started on September 22 this year!

To make matters worse, my box was never shipped out once I was charged. My order keep saying that it was processing. On November 29 I decided to contact customer service, because all of these delays were highly unusual compared to the past. The only method of contact that they offer is via email. They got back to me on December 3 and said that they did receive my payment, and that my box would ship the same week. They also said that I would receive my tracking number by Wednesday, December 6. If not, I was to let them know that I did not get the tracking number. I ended up contacting them again on December 7 because I did not get a tracking number. I also noted that my online account now said my shipment was processing, but no tracking information was available. BrandShare got back to me on December 8, basically giving me the runaround, saying that they are working around the clock to ship the boxes out and that they would give me my tracking number soon.

I pretty much gave up at this point and was contemplating demanding my money back, as well as cancelling my subscription. After all, it is almost time to get the Winter box. I also let them know that I was unhappy about never being notified about the shipping delay, but they never acknowledged my complaint. The Fall box randomly arrived at my door on Saturday, December 16. I never received a tracking number or any other communication from BrandShare. Then, on the following Monday around 4:30 pm I received the automated email saying my box shipped, after the box already arrived. If you are someone who is considering subscribing to the box, definitely keep this story in mind. This was the first time that I had so much trouble.

Now, let's jump into my belated Walmart Beauty Box review for Fall 2017.

This box definitely has weight to it.

Tresemme Tres Two Spray

The first item in my Walmart Beauty Box review is a hairspray. I was disappointed to get hairspray. I actually stopped using hairspray years ago because I hate the crispy feel it gives to your hair. When my hair gets like that it just tangles up. I actually had this same hairspray in the same size can before. I think it worked fine, but I hate hairspray in general.

Gold Bond Radiance Renewal Cream Oil

This cream claims that it exfoliates and nourishes dry skin with coconut oil, cocoa butter, and African shea butter. It is a very thick, white cream. I can definitely smell the coconut and cocoa. I will use this product on my hands before getting into bed.

Hello Extra Whitening Toothpaste in Pure Mint

This is a repeat sample, but I do enjoy this toothpaste. I even used a full-sized tube after using up my first sample. I like that this toothpaste contains natural ingredients. The mint flavor is gentle, which makes it enjoyable. As far as whitening is concerned, I did not notice much happening for my teeth, but I liked it none the less. It is supposed to prevent cavities, strengthen enamel, and freshen breath. It is white and has a different consistency than your average toothpaste. The consistency is hard to describe. The best way that I can word it is that when you finishing squeezing it onto your toothbrush the last bit leaves a tail that I somehow always get on my fingers, which is my only complaint.

Plackers Micro Mint Dental Flossers

I can always use flossers due to having all four of my wisdom teeth, which have really pushed my bottom row of teeth together. I keep flossers on hand. I like that these come in a reusable travel case.

Body Fantasies Layering Collection

I am a huge Body Fantasies fan. I have quite the collection. My favorite scent is Sweet Pea. What is your favorite Body Fantasies scent? Let me know in the comments. Anyways, I am quite excited to see that Body Fantasies has some new scents rolling out. These scents are meant to be layered, but can also be used alone. I have never received body spray in a perfume sample bottle before. Also, the bottles are significantly larger than any perfume sample I have ever gotten. There is even a cap for the sprayer! The two scents that I got are tropical and cotton. I think I will like them both.

Soo AE Donkey Milk Sleeping Mask

A sleeping mask is a new concept for me, let alone slathering donkey milk all over my face. Soo AE is a Korean beauty brand, and they claim that donkey milk is all the rage. This is a mask that you are to apply to your face and neck at night as your last step in your skincare routine. You are to apply it generously and then go to bed. It is gentle enough for nightly use. You are to wash it off in the morning. It is supposed to soothe and restore the skin's health and vitality. The other claims include diminishing fine lines and wrinkles, skin pluming, and leaving an overall glow. The formula is supposed to be lightweight for fast absorption. As far as putting this on and going to bed, I would think that I am going to get this all over my pillow. I went ahead and researched using sleep masks in general, as I could not find a video demonstration for this particular mask. It appears that most sleeping masks absorb into the skin so that there is no mess. Wish me luck!

Nivea Oil Infused Lotion in Cherry Blossom & Jojoba Oil

I found the next two samples to be highly amusing. Nivea sent two samples- one is an in-shower lotion where they tout that you will not have to use regular lotion. The next Nivea sample is.... a regular body lotion!

Anyway, this lotion is for daily use on the body. The oils nourish the skin and absorb quickly. The scent is supposed to "awaken" your senses.

Nivea In-shower Body Lotion

This is a lotion that you apply while in the shower, after washing your body. Just rinse it off and you are good to go. The formula is activated by water. I find it slightly alarming that there is a warning on the packet that this product can make your tub slippery and can cause falls. It says to cleanse your tub after use with warm water. This product is supposed to combine the benefits of a body scrub and lotion, with exfoliating pearls.

Shea Moisture Coconut & Hibiscus Curl Shine Shampoo and Curl Enhancing Smoothie

The first thing that stood out to me about these samples is that they are for thick, curly hair. That is the complete opposite of my hair type, so I have no hope of these products working. How can they define curls that do not exist? I found this set to be unique because you get a regular shampoo, and a "smoothie" in place of a conditioner. Well, the smoothie is really a leave in conditioner. The shampoo has the typical directions of lathering up and rinsing. It is supposed to hydrate and detangle. Next, you apply the smoothie to damp or dry hair. You are to section your hair and apply it sparingly. It claims to reduce frizz, enhance curls, smooth, and make the hair soft and shiny. The formula is not supposed to weigh your curls down.

I find it curious that you get a ton of the smoothie, but only enough shampoo for one use. I wish packet samples stated how many uses it contains. I would not put the entire smoothie packet in my hair. If this sample has anything going for it, it is the pretty packaging.

Olay Luminous Tone Perfecting Cream

The final sample in my Walmart Beauty Box review for Fall 2017 is one of those samples that I just do not understand. It is a skincare product that you only get enough to use once. In order to see if a skincare product is working, you need to use it for at least 30 days. So Olay, what makes you think I am going to buy the full size if I have no idea if the product works or not? Ok, let's get back on topic. This cream claims to even tone and fade dark spots. The directions state to apply it to your face and neck morning and night.

This box had a decent amount of samples. It was about split between packets and deluxe samples. For a drugstore box I am not completely upset about the amount of packet samples. There was also plenty of coupons in this box. All in all I think the box made for a good Walmart Beauty Box review, despite the horrible shipping service. Did you have any issues getting this box? Have you used any of the items in the box? Let's hope for better luck with the Winter box! Until next time, continue to let your true beauty shine.
