You know you have reached the end of the month when the new Play! by Sephora box arrives at your doorstep. Yes, it is that time for the Play! by Sephora February 2017 review. This month’s theme is “The Soft Side,” which is dedicated to delicate hues and skin-perfecting goodness. As I unbox this box with you I will be sharing my reviews, first impressions, and swatches of these high-end deluxe samples. Let’s jump straight into the unboxing.

I absolutely adore the color of the bag! Not only is it silky, but it is a beautiful mauve pink color, which perfectly fits into this month’s theme. The bag says “smitten,” which is exactly how I feel about the color.

Clinique Pep-Start Hydroblur Moisturizer

The first item in my Play! by Sephora February 2017 review is Clinique’s Pep-Start Hydroblur Moisturizer that doubles as a moisturizer and a primer. It can be applied at night as a moisturizer, and/or before makeup application. The directions state that you are to press it into your skin, using your fingers. It can also be applied over makeup for spot fixes during the day. This product claims to provide a shine-free complexion. It is a translucent-white cream with no scent.

Too Faced Lip Injection Glossy in Milkshake

We finally have a Too Faced lip product in this box, and it is unfortunately the Lip Injection Glossy. I hate lipgloss because of the sticky feel and how quickly they tend to wear off. The Lip Injection line is supposed to plump your lips over time, while adding softness. The shade is a very odd gold-orange-peachy color. It definitely has plenty of gold sparkles in it. The swatch looks pretty sheer, with just a hint of the peachy color. I think it may work well over top of most lip colors. The lipgloss is thick. It has a standard doe-foot applicator.

Origins GinZing Refreshing Eye Cream

The Origins GinZing Refreshing Eye Cream claims that it will depuff and brighten the under eye area. It is to be applied with your ring finger in the morning. The product is a light pink thin cream with no scent.

Sephora Collection Lashcraft Length & Volume Mascara

Sephora’s Lashcraft mascara claims that it will lengthen, volumize, and lift lashes due to its unique, flat-paddle wand. The nylon formula is supposed to prevent clumping and make removal a breeze. The package also claims that the glossy black pigment will add drama to your look.

NARS Velvet Lip Glide in Bound

My first thought at seeing the NARS Velvet Lip Glide is that it is my favorite product in February’s box. This product combines everything that I want and love in a lip color- mauve pink, matte finish, and liquid lipstick. It is supposed to last all day and feel silky on the lips. It has a flat doe-foot applicator. The swatch never dries down matte! This could be because the product separated and needs stirred, I did not spread it out enough, or it just is not good. I would like to think it is just a fluke on my part.

Marc Jacobs Divine Decadence

The final sample in this Play! by Sephora February 2017 review is a perfume. Divine Decadence by Marc Jacobs is an overall different scent. I immediately notice a fruity champagne fragrance. It is very woody and earthy, with other scents, including orange blossom, bergamot, and gardenia.

Sadly, we have reached the bottom of the box. This Play! by Sephora February 2017 review is pretty good this time around. I am pleased with receiving more makeup items than skincare items, as I feel that Sephora connotes best with makeup. Which product is your favorite? Why? Please let me know in the comments. Until next time, continue to let your true beauty shine.
