Play! by Sephora December 2016 Review – The Partygoers

Saturday, December 24, 2016
I cannot believe that we have finally made it to the last Play! by Sephora box of the year! December's theme is "The Partygoers." I hope we find some products that are good for holiday parties. Without further delay, let's unbox this thing.

A new style bag! What a surprise this month. It is very elegant.

Urban Decay All Nighter Makeup Setting Spray

I know I say this all the time, but I have always wanted to try this product! It is supposed to keep your makeup looking freshly applied for 16 hours and is weather resistant. You are to apply it to the face using "X" and "T" motions. I have a good feeling about this product.

Sephora Cream Lip Stain in Always Red

It appears as though Sephora loves to give us their lip products to try. I have to say I have been really disappointed with them so far. This product actually is a winner. It is supposed to dry fully matte while leaving your lips feeling smooth. I found that it applied very pigmented and creamy. It feels more like a matte lippie than a stain. It did dry matte in a few minutes. The swatch was ever so slightly tacky, but not bad. I had a hard time washing the swatch off!

Make Up For Ever Step 1 Equalizer Smoothing Primer

This primer is supposed to equalize the texture of your skin while keeping your makeup in tact. I enjoy trying different primers, so I will be interested in seeing how this one performs. It is a skin-toned cream with a clean scent.

Bobbi Brown Smokey Eye Mascara

This product claims to be a deeply pigmented black kohl mascara that provides high-impact volume, while being smudge free. It is best used with smokey eye looks and kohl eyeliner. I noticed that the wand is pretty standard and not very flexible. It also smells like a typical mascara. As of now I am not really expecting wonders from it.

Drybar Bay Breeze Hydrating Shot

This is a different kind of product for me. It is for hydrating your hair, especially during the winter. After shampooing you are to squeeze the excess water from your hair, and then spray this entire bottle all over, working it from roots to ends. Then you rinse it out, using it once per week. It's a shame this is a one time use sample, but I wonder if I will see any effects from it.

Elizabeth and James Nirvana Bourbon

This is a very interesting scent, to say the least. I do not find it to be strong, but it feels well-suited for winter. I almost wonder if it can be unisex. It is a warm fragrance with vanilla bourbon, tuberose, oak, and spice woods. I think it will make others around me wonder what scent I am wearing.
