e.l.f. Haul #6: First Time Buys & Current Faves

Friday, November 11, 2016
By now I have probably well established that I buy from e.l.f. every time they have an online sale. Sales do not happen every day, so you need to take advantage of them when they arise. This sale enabled me to not only purchase items that I have never used before, but also to get additional shades of products that I trust. I feel that I got some very useful products in this haul- ones that will work their way into my everyday routine quickly. Without further ado, let's get straight into the haul.

Brushes

e.l.f. Selfie Ready Powder Blurring Brush

I bought this because I was interested in it's claims of giving you a "blurred" perfection. As far as setting powder application goes, I find it to be too dense to blur. The directions state that you are to use this brush in a circular motion, which is just fine for foundation and cream product application (which the packaging states it would also work well for). When it comes to powder brushes (note that "powder" is in the name of this brush) you should always pat and never use circular motions. It is probably best used to apply foundation.

e.l.f. Blush Brush

I have used this brush and I like how it applies blush. The shape and give of the bristles are just perfect. I would not use it for anything else (such as contouring), as the bristles are not dense enough for that type of application.

e.l.f. Fan Brush

The fan brush that I was using prior to this one was too large and not dense enough, causing my highlighter to not show up on my face. I thought that the smaller size and more compact bristles would cause this brush to perform better. So far I am pleased!

Lips

e.l.f. Matte Lip Color

If you have been around for any amount of time, then you know exactly what I am going to say about the Matte Lip Color. They are truly matte, set quickly, and do not dry out your lips. They have just the right amount of buildable pigmentation. While using the term "buildable," I should note that application will not take years. The size of the tip makes product application very easy. I highly recommend these.

e.l.f. Moisturizing Lipstick in Flirty & Fabulous

This is yet another product that I have reviewed quite a few times in the past. These lipsticks are a great, standard lipstick. Again, they have buildable color just like the Matte Lip Colors. They always have a sweet, cupcake-like scent.

Eyes

e.l.f. Prism Eyeshadow in Naked

Every shade in this palette is a shimmer shade. If that is not your thing, then this palette will definitely be a turnoff. Also, all of the shades in this palette truly are nudes, as well as being light-toned. You will not be able to create a smoky/dramatic look with it. I am OK with that, because some days you are going for a nude look. I have no complaints about the pigmentation.

e.l.f. Clay Eyeshadow Palettes

I had anticipated that these eyeshadows would be highly pigmented, but they definitely fall short in that category. I think that they could be better, but they are not terrible. I really had to rub my fingers in the shadows to get decent swatches. I also noticed that some shades were chalky, while only a few were smooth. I will use them and see if I can really pack on some color. I do like the color themes.

e.l.f. Baked Trio Eyeshadow in Brown Bonanza

I am not a fan of e.l.f.'s baked products, but these eyeshadows seem to not be so terrible. I already had a trio that I liked, so I got this one. I have found the pigmentation to once again be pretty good.

e.l.f. Baked Highlighter in Moonlight Pearls

This is another baked product that is not entirely terrible. The shimmery glow is actually quite pretty and it is not hard to get onto your brush.

In looking back over the entire haul, I am definitely pleased. I think that all of these products are worth having in your makeup collection. Do you use any of these products?
