Play! by Sephora August 2016 Review – The Eye Openers

Friday, August 26, 2016
I was especially excited for August's Play! by Sephora box when I found out that the theme was going to be The Eye Openers. I was anticipating high-end eyeshadow, mascara, eyeliner, and eye primers. After finally getting my box and opening it up, the totally cute drawstring bag deepened my desire for some great eye products! The bag is even more adorable than July's, because it reminds me of my love for mascara and big eyelashes. Let me tell you, this box did not disappoint me. Join me as I unbox the August box along with you!

Urban Decay Perversion Mascara

This is the first product that I pulled out of the bag, and I was beyond happy! I have always wanted to try this mascara. I will totally use it. Now when I follow Urban Decay tutorials, I pretty much have all of the products that it will call for! What an awesome deluxe sample to receive.

Make Up For Ever Artist Eyeshadow in I-544

I am familiar with Make Up For Ever eyeshadow from seeing it used in videos. This is another product that I have always wanted to try. Based on the swatch, I am nothing near disappointed. The pigmentation is great and the powder is smooth. The color is beyond beautiful. It looks like it should be in Naked 3. The best way that I can describe the color is a mauvy pink.

Sephora Contour Eye Pencil in Flirting Game

The color of this eyeliner really complements the Make Up For Ever eyeshadow. It was very smooth and not draggy when swatching it. It is quite pigmented and it set well. I do not expect it to budge throughout the day.

Algenist Eye Renewal Balm

This product is supposed to deal with the side affects of aging, such as dark circles, puffiness, and wrinkles. You get a really fair amount of product in this sample pot, considering that it says to apply it in pea-sized dabs and that you need to use a skincare product for at least two weeks to see improvement. I am going to work it into my morning routine before makeup application. It feels like a standard lotion and is an off-white color.

Lancome Energie de Vie Smoothing & Glowing Liquid Care Moisturizer

This product can be used after cleaning your face as a moisturizer to correct dullness and add glow to the skin. It is essentially a liquid lotion. The liquid is clear and runny, and almost smells like a high-end fragrance. I will apply this to my cheeks nightly, as I use an acne treatment moisturizer on the other areas of my face.

Clean Reserve Warm Cotton Perfume

I was really surprised that I liked the scent of this perfume, considering that I am not a huge fan of clean linen air freshers. This scent is definitely wearable and will not make you smell like you slept in the dryer. It will leave you smelling fresh and clean, but it also has a hint of something else to make others wonder "oooh what is that?!". I can see myself using this.

Those were all of the products in this month's Play! by Sephora box. I really liked this one and I remain impressed with this subscription service. Do you subscribe to this box? Which products did you really like? I want to talk about these topics in the comments. Until next time, continue to let your true beauty shine.

Be sure to check out the July 2016 box and all of my Play! by Sephora reviews.
