I am especially excited for this Play! by Sephora August 2016 review because of the theme “The Eye Openers.” I am anticipating high-end eyeshadow, mascara, eyeliner, and eye primers. After finally getting my box and opening it up, the totally cute drawstring bag deepens my desire for some great eye products! The bag is even more adorable than July’s, because it reminds me of my love for mascara and big eyelashes. Let me tell you, this box does not disappoint. Join me as I unbox the August box along with you!

Urban Decay Perversion Mascara

The first product in this Play! by Sephora August 2016 review is Urban Decay’s Perversion Mascara. It claims to lengthen and volumize with a creamy formula that will not clump.

Make Up For Ever Artist Eyeshadow in I-544

Second is Make Up For Ever’s Artist Eyeshadow in I-544. Based on the swatch, I am nothing near disappointed. The pigmentation is great and the powder is smooth. The color is beyond beautiful. It looks like it should be in the Naked 3 palette. The best way that I can describe the color is a mauvy pink.

Sephora Contour Eye Pencil in Flirting Game

Third is a Contour Eye Pencil from Sephora. The color of this eyeliner really complements the Make Up For Ever eyeshadow. It is very smooth and not draggy when swatching it. It is quite pigmented and it set well so it most likely will not budge during the day.

Algenist Eye Renewal Balm

Fourth is Algenist’s Eye Renewal Balm. This product is supposed to deal with the side affects of aging, such as dark circles, puffiness, and wrinkles. You get a really fair amount of product in this sample pot, considering that it says to apply it in pea-sized dabs. I am going to work it into my morning routine before makeup application. It feels like a standard lotion and is an off-white color.

Lancome Energie de Vie Smoothing & Glowing Liquid Care Moisturizer

Fifth is Lancome’s Energie de Vie Smoothing and Glowing Liquid Care Moisturizer. This product can be used after cleaning your face as a moisturizer to correct dullness and add glow to the skin. It is essentially a liquid lotion. The liquid is clear and runny, and almost smells like a high-end fragrance. I will apply this to my cheeks nightly, as I use an acne treatment moisturizer on the other areas of my face.

Clean Reserve Warm Cotton

The last item in this Play! by Sephora August 2016 review is Clean Reserve’s Warm Cotton. I am really surprised that I like the scent of this perfume, considering that I am not a huge fan of clean linen air freshers. This scent is definitely wearable and will not make you smell like you slept in the dryer. It will leave you smelling fresh and clean, but it also has a hint of something else to make others wonder “oooh what is that?!”
