elf Haul #5: Final Sale

Saturday, August 20, 2016
e.l.f. cosmetics just finished having what they called a "Final Sale" on their website in order to get rid of some products or certain shades that they are no longer going to carry. I do have a hunch that some of the products, such as the Smudge Pots, are simply being repackaged. I could not resist diving into this sale because it allowed me to get so many products that I never had before, as well as some different shades of products that I already love. Since this e.l.f. haul series is quite popular, I am back at it again with reviews, swatches, and first impressions of my haul. These products are super fun, so let's jump straight into it.

e.l.f. Studio Moisturizing Foundation Stick in Ivory

I was impressed by how creamy, but not oily, this product was. It was very easy to swatch, and was not draggy on the skin. I then tried blending it into my hand with my finger, which worked well. I think the shade will be just fine for me. I am hoping that this product overall works out for me, because the only other foundation stick I have is Maybelline's, and I really do not like it.

e.l.f. Studio Pressed Mineral Bronzer

I already had two of these bronzers, and I am addicted to them! It was a no-brainer to purchase some more. I not only love the packaging, but the lovely, deep colors of these bronzers. Tan Toffee is a matte brown, while Beach Bronze has golden shimmer. It is so hard to not grab for these products day after day.

e.l.f. Studio Pressed Powder in Coco

While I do understand that this pressed powder is for darker complected ladies, I purchased it to use it as a contour shade. The color ended up being perfect for contouring and it is very pigmented! It also came with a powder puff in the bottom of the package, but I'll just use a brush. The bottom of the package also has tiny holes so that the powder puff can "breathe."

e.l.f. Studio Blush in Glow

This looks essentially like a white blush. I figured it would function as a highlighter, and I was right. I have no idea why it is even considered a blush. It provides a gentle highlight, perfect for days when you are not trying to get all Becca Cosmetics about it.

e.l.f. Essential Shimmer in Gold

While this product appears to be a different color in the pan than the blush above, they swatch very similarly. When it comes down to buying these, I say get one or the other, but not both.

e.l.f. Studio Zit Eraser

I have been experiencing acne on my forehead that will not go away. I have developed my own skincare routine to help deal with it. My routine has helped somewhat, but the acne will not fully go away. I have been using the Zit Eraser for a few days and it looks like there has been some improvement. Of course, every skincare product should be used for at least two weeks in order to see results. To use this product you simply twist the back end and product is dispensed through a brush. You then brush the product onto affected areas. It has a slight hand sanitizer like smell.

e.l.f. Lip Kiss Balm

I am not one for tinted lip balms, but I figured what the heck with these. It turns out that I really like these! They have a minty smell and provide a cooling sensation on the lips. They provide enough tint to give you the "your lips, just pefected" look. I did find them rather moisturizing. Pucker Pink has some shimmer in it, and I like it the best. I noted that Pouty Raspberry swatched rather patchy. I have not used that one on my lips yet to make a full decision.

e.l.f. Studio Moisturizing Lipstick in Wink Pink

I love the moisturizing lipsticks, so I had to add on to my collection. The formula is always soft and creamy, with just the right amount of buildable pigmentation. I like this nude pink shade.

 e.l.f. Studio Flirty Lash Collection

Since I already had the Everyday Lash collection, I figured I would get this one. While the eyelash glue does not impress me, the tweezers are the perfect size for eyelash application. These lashes are rather dramatic. I have never seen a set quite like this one. That does not scare me away from trying it though!

e.l.f. Studio Long-Lasting Lustrous Eyeshadow

Wow, I was very impressed by the swatches of these products! They are a gel eyeshadow, and they are very creamy and pigmented. They remind me of the Smudge Pots. I was blown away by how metallic and metalized they look. I do wonder how well they will work with a brush- using your finger might be the best way to go. They also set nicely, so I image creasing will not be a problem.

e.l.f. 5 Piece Eyeshadow Set in Night

I bought these because I have always found the eyeshadow duos to be very pigmented. A few of these were rather disappointing, but overall I am not mad at them. I think the bonus eyeshadow brush and eyeliner is creative, yet unnecessary because the eyeliner is the handle of the brush, and you will make it too short by sharpening it. The eyeliner is smooth enough that it was not draggy on the skin.

e.l.f. Artistry Eyeshadow Palette

Can I just say amazing?! First of all, this palette comes inside of a zippered pouch- how fancy! I was very impressed with the pigmentation of the eyeshadows. I did find them to be rather deceptive in the pan. They often swatched much more shimmery than I expected, but that does not bother me. Even cooler is that the third shade in the top row is a duochrome! I note that the black was so pigmented that it blew me away, but it did have a lot of fallout. I will not dock any points because most black eyeshadows have much fallout. This is a great item to have in your collection.

e.l.f. 50 Piece Makeup Artist Palette

The packaging of this palette is so classy. I was impressed by the pigmentation of the blush and bronzers, but the eyeshadow unfortunately leaves something to be desired. Some shades are more pigmented than others. Not bad, but I expected a little bit more.

e.l.f. Studio HD Blush in Diva

This is my third HD Blush. As always, it is super pigmented and bright. To make these more wearable, dispense the smallest amount that you can onto the back of your hand, and then use a stippling brush to apply the product to your cheeks. It does set nicely. Also, be sure to shake the bottle before use.
