Some people find dressing up to be a lot of work, or think that the clothing is uncomfortable. For me, I like to dress up once a week, and I cannot stop buying dresses. In the spirit of my dress-up addiction, I am creating eight dressy summer outfits for 2016 that bring you a wide variety of style options that you can re-create in your own home. These outfits are totally on point for both spring and summer.

1) Fringe + Gold + Black (Fringe Addiction)

The first look from my dressy summer outfits for 2016 is rather dark while packing a punch. I love that the sheer black blouse features a fringe hem and gold studs on the shoulders. To play with those studs I am pulling out my gold spike flats. Let’s face it, I am really digging the gold with the coin necklace finishing touch. Simple black dress pants keep the style in control.

Crossbody: Delias
Necklace: Walmart

2) Pink + Khaki + Lace (Perfect Pastels)

Second is a totally girly and pastel look. Blush pink looks great with khaki dress pants. Talk about style made easy as the necklace comes with the shirt. All of the accents are silver and the crochet slip on shoes provide neutral comfort.

Pants: No Boundaries from Walmart

Crossbody: Boscov’s

I complete this look by using Urban Decay’s Naked 3 palette.

3) Floral + Black + Gold (Flower Bomb)

Third is a dress-up outfit that is comfy and awesome for transitional weather. Somehow this floral dress almost perfectly matches the floral handbag! Since the dress has spaghetti straps, a knit black cardigan is a great match to keep your arms toasty. A long gold necklace really does tie the outfit together.

Cardigan: Faded Glory from Walmart

Handbag: Adam Levine from Kmart
Shoes: Trend Report from Sears

4) Nude + Floral + Navy Blue (Summer Flower)

Fourth I have a floral dress that is perfectly lightweight for summer. It has a strappy back that adds a lot of interest. Since the design is rather busy, I am keeping the rest of the style neutral with nude pumps and a nude crossbody.

Shoes: Jacklyn Smith from Kmart

5) Silver + Mint + Denim (Shine On)

Fifth is a look that packs a healthy dose of shine! Since the mint blouse and white cardigan are plain, I am spicing things up with metallic silver flats, a beaming silver flower necklace, and even an iridescent crossbody. The denim skirt can be worn with so many looks, it is a closet must-have for sure.

6) Teal + Gold + Starfish (Mermaid Girl)

This look from my dressy summer outfits for 2016 goes down in the history books as one of my favorites of all time. Between the length of the dress and the teal color, it makes me think of mermaids. I keep that theme going with starfish and seashell jewelry, and even wavy mermaid hair! Because of the gorgeous, dainty gold buttons going down the dress, I keep all of my other pieces gold for consistency.

Jewelry: Icing and Claire’s

7) Royal Blue + Black + Silver (Midnight Castle)

Next is a dark and mysterious look with loads of class. The royal blue skirt is really the statement of the entire outfit, so I build the rest of the look from it. A black lace blouse adds texture, but the beading makes the top busy enough that a necklace is not necessary. I opt for cubic zirconia earrings and bracelets instead. Since the jewelry is silver, wearing silver sandals is a wise choice.

8) Cream + Gold + Blue (Boho Accents)

The last style from my dressy summer outfits for 2016 screams boho, starting with the peasant top. The cream color of the high-low skirt compliments the hem of the shirt. Check out the jewelry with the bold, bone-like design. I love how the nude belt on the skirt pairs well with the fringe crossbody and basic sandals.
