e.l.f. Haul #2- New Arrivals

Sunday, October 18, 2015
Recently I took advantage of another e.l.f. sale. This sale was exclusively on some of their new arrivals that I have been dying to get my hands on. I am proud to say that I have been loving my purchases so far and get a lot of use out of them. I'm totally one of those people who must use something as soon as they get it. Today I want to share my haul and first impressions with you, and hopefully help you decide on what products you want to try out for yourself.

Missed my last e.l.f. haul? Read about it here.

1) e.l.f. Studio Everyday Smoky Eyeshadow palette

I am totally obsessed with this line of palettes! The pigmentation is good for a $10 product. I use these palettes as a way of conserving my Urban Decay palettes, because they are like gold to me so I don't want to use them up. I grab this palette in particular to curb my Naked Smoky addiction. But I could incorporate all of these palettes into my daily routine. Just for fun, I compared Everyday Smoky to Naked Smoky. While it is by no means an exact dupe, I think it is just fine to purchase if you have no intention on giving up $54.

2) e.l.f. Studio Need it Nude Eyeshadow palette

This palette has officially made me fall for the nude eye trend. It is so easy to create nude looks, and to change up those looks from light to intense. I think you can make brown shadows work for any occasion. If you have a nude obsession, try this palette out.

3) e.l.f. Studio Party Ready Eyeshadow palette

This palette is full of fun colors and endless possibilities. You could truly go nude, colorful, or smoky. It is great to play with, or just pull out for special occasions.

4) e.l.f. Studio Matte Lip Color in Tea Rose

This product is a repurchase in a different color. In my last haul I said that the Matte Lip Colors could be more matte, but after using them a bit, I think they are great. They don't over dry the lips, while being truly matte and well pigmented. A secret you may not know is that there is a sharpener in the opposite end of the pencil.

5) e.l.f. Studio Ultimate Kabuki Brush

Well, this brush is huge. I think you could paint a wall with it. I bought it just to have in my brush collection. I have not actually used it. I believe it is intended to be used to sculpt your face, but I feel like it is so huge that my whole cheek would be covered in bronzer. Maybe one day I'll find the courage to take the bronzer risk.

6) e.l.f. Studio Ultimate Blending Brush

I bought this brush as a dupe for the Real Technique's Expert Face Brush. It is not as dense as the Real Technique's brush, but I think it will work just as well for powder products. I use the Expert Face Brush for cream foundation, so it would be interesting to try this brush with it and see the results.

7) e.l.f. Studio Blush in Mellow Mauve

This blush is very light and not all that pigmented. It is great for doing more nude looks.

8) e.l.f. Studio Beautifully Bare Blush in Rose Royalty

This product made me nervous because it is a cream to powder blush. It actually applies just like a powder with no strong pigmentation or blending trouble. I actually had to use a lot to see color. It was not scary at all.

9) e.l.f. Studio Contouring Brush

This blush does an excellent job of contouring your cheekbones and your entire face in general. It blends your bronzer so nicely while avoiding harsh lines.

10) e.l.f. Studio Slanted Kabuki Brush

This is another brush I bought just to have in my collection. I can't see you getting any advantage out of having a slanted kabuki over a regular kabuki brush, besides that it may contour a bit better. Perhaps you can make it work for you and your needs.

11) e.l.f. Essential Smudge Pots in Pearls of Wisdom and Brownie Points

I am so mad that I did not try the smudge pots years ago! They are completely awesome. I have never found an eye shadow product that is not standard pressed pigment that I like, because they tend to crease within minutes. These DO NOT crease, even after all day wear. For me, that's usually 12+ hours. I use Pearls of Wisdom daily as a base/primer, in addition to my usual primer. The only catch is that the smudge pots are very shimmery and do not come in matte. If you hate shimmer then you will hate these. They also make your shadow look more shimmery when you use them as a base. I want these in all the colors!

12) e.l.f. Studio Beautifully Bare Blending Brush

This brush is so full and fluffy, and overall feels like it is high quality. I use it to apply my blush because it blends it over the cheek and down into the bronzer so well. You could also easily contour with it.

13) e.l.f. Studio Moisturizing Lipstick in Bordeaux Beauty

What a great shade for fall! I really like the moisturizing lipsticks. They are very pigmented, yet smooth and not oily. They also don't dry out your lips or give you that flaky look. I could easily collect all of them.

14) e.l.f. Studio Eyebrow Duo Brush

I use this brush with my e.l.f. Studio Eyebrow Kit. I use spooley end to tame my brows. Then I use the slanted brush end to apply the brow wax. Then I use a different and larger eyebrow brush to apply the powder. However, you could use this brush to apply any brow product. It is so small that it allows you to work in detail and avoid mistakes.

15) e.l.f. Studio Bronzer Palette in Bronzed Beauty

I had to buy this after buying the quad blush palette that looks just like it. In fact, I like to use them together. I really like all of the shades of bronzer in this kit- there is a shade for every look you are feeling. I will get use out of all of them.

Overall I am very happy with my purchases and do not have any regrets. I would repurchase all of these products, especially in different colors. Do you have an e.l.f. or any makeup haul? Share it in the comments. Until next time, I'm going to continue using these products like crazy, and you continue to let your true beauty shine.
